MODERN DAY APOSTLES? BY STEVE FINNELL

Found here. Reproduced here for fair use and discussion purposes. My comments in bold.
------------------------

I haven't commented on a Steve Finnell article for quite some time, mostly because he posts incessantly about water baptism. Yeah, we get it, Steve. We know you think we gotta be baptized to be saved. Move on already.

So today's post attracted my attention because of the twisting of Scripture to suit his beliefs.

On the Sexual Nature of Man - John C. Wright

Found here. An intellectual tour de force in support of Christian virtue, while making no appeal to faith or God to establish his case.
--------------
Here below is a long essay I wrote back in 2009 under the general title Apologia Pro Opere Sui. I have recently come across both foe and false friend misrepresenting my conclusions in this matter, either through malice or negligence. To leave all such unwary tongues without excuse, I here reprint it again. Let there be no speculation and no falsehoods about what position I hold.

Ted Cruz: 'I'm a Christian first, American second.' Imagine if Muslim or Jewish politician said that - Ian Reifowitz

Found here. Reproduced here for fair use and discussion purposes. My comments in bold.
------------------------------

This author is concerned that someone would point to his faith as the most important thing in his life. Apparently there is some sort of conflict of interest between Christianity and being in government, though what that might be is never identified.

What You (Probably) Don’t Know About Modern Worship - by Glenn Packiam

Found here. A very good article by a talented song writer.
----------------------

It seems to be in vogue to predict the impending demise of modern worship, with some even suggesting we ‘kill megachurch worship’. The subject in question has been variously named ‘modern worship’, ‘contemporary worship’, and even the more direct and provocative aforementioned, ‘megachurch worship’. While there have been a plethora of futurists and liturgists rushing to judgment, I am not certain if any of them worship regularly in a church that employs a modern worship style. And I am quite sure none of them are involved in leading either modern worship or megachurches.

So forgive my skepticism.

Found here. We largely agree with the author's conclusions, but we also object to his use of language. We have only a couple of comments, in bold.

How to Get Rid of Your Landlord and Socialize American Housing, in 3 Easy Steps - By Jesse A. Myerson

Found here. Our comments in bold.
----------------------

Let’s get rid of private housing.

Plenty of time and effort have lately gone into analyzing a host of related crises—homelessness, unaffordable urban real estate, devastating gentrification, (Which is the renewal of poor and run down neighborhoods, which cause and influx of people and an accompanying increase in values. This pushes out the original, poor residents. The Leftist blog Slate thinks it's mostly a myth.

It's interesting to us that the Left is offended by the idea of old, run-down neighbors being revitalized.)

The property rights argument regarding abortion

Abortion supporters frequently appeal to their right to control their own bodies. This is in essence a property rights argument. We certainly can agree that it is a fundamental property rights issue as to who owns our bodies. In a free society, government has no say in what we legally do with our own property, including our bodies, as a matter of unalienable rights.

However, these rights are not absolute.

The nature of confession

My concept of confession is probably similar to yours: Admission of sin. It conjures a darkened room with a single light hanging over a table, and two detectives looking menacingly at a suspect. "We know you did it," one of them sneers. "Confess now and we'll go easy on you."

AP article glossed over Gianforte’s beliefs - By Gretchen Rupp

Reproduced here for fair use and discussion purposes. My comments in bold.
----------------------------

Desperate to find something, anything at all, that will impugn Gianforte, the Left happily will exaggerate, misdirect, or even make something up.
