Christians: You've Been Lied To... The Forbidden Knowledge Series - by Rev. Valerie Love

Found here. Our comments in bold.
---------------------

The author is self-described "Christian witch." What exactly is Christian about her religion? She claims to know and explain the real Jesus, which consists mostly of rejecting every historical and biblical claim about him. Basically her religion name-drops Jesus but in every other way is indistinguishable from paganism.

We mean no disrespect to the author, but we require more than her word about what she espouses. She will make many claims, but document none of them. So, what we will read below is nothing more than undocumented opinions about some other dude named Jesus.

Lastly, despite the title, the author will identify no lie. What she does do is to point out things she disagrees with, but does not explain how they are lies.

Christians Have Been Lied To...

With all due respect to all people of all faith walks and religions, a bit of research will show up lies in the Christian faith... lies we must address if we're to become the fully self-realized beings we are born to be.

Many Christians have no idea of the origins of the Christian faith, an understandable fact for any age prior to the information age. Back in the day, few were literate, access to books was reserved for the wealthy, and the masses got all their information from what was read to them. (Paul was highly educated and articulate. Luke was a physician. Certainly many of writers of the N.T. were of no account. Fishermen and tax collectors. But the actual test is, what did they write? Did their writings sound ignorant?

If access to these non-ignorant writings was suppressed, then the ignorance is because it was forced. People say whatever they want about something, but if it's hidden from view these claims cannot be checked. However, the writings are available to us now, and we can judge for ourselves. We find remarkable insight from the N.T. writers. And most of what they wrote is beyond dispute.

So we wonder what the author's point is.)

Not so today. We have a plethora of info at our fingertips. Any ignorance today is willful. (If only today's Christians would educate themselves! They're so ignorant, but the author is savvy.)

This blog post exists NOT to malign Christians or any other religion or group of people. I'm a minister (What kind of minster, and what credentials does she hold?)

and have no interest in maligning anyone or anything. (Except historic Christianity.)

This blog post exists for one reason and one reason only: to bring TRUTH to the LIGHT. (Okay, we are waiting. What truth is that?)

That's it. After I've done my job from a space of love and inspiration, I release it to the universe and let everyone take it how they may.

If you're asking a question we've received a lot over the years: why are you talking about Christians when you're a Christian Witch? Doesn't everything you say about Christians apply to Christian Witches? Excellent question.

Christian, for me, means being Christ-like (What specifically does this consist of?)

and does not mean adherence to a man-made religion. (All religions are man-made. They are all derivative from the revelation.)

This blog post addresses Christianity as an invented religion. (Remember, she's going to tell us about the lies...)

With that said, let's proceed...

Who Invented Christianity?

Nicene Christianity (Goalposts moved.)

was invented by the Romans, who were bloodthirsty, and whose culture deemed pedophilia acceptable. It's not an accident that Catholic priests continue the custom to this day.

If you're not Catholic, you may say that your brand of Christianity doesn't support bloodthirst or pedophilia, except that we must understand that all Christianity, as practiced today (not the original practices of Christ) (Unidentified practices...)

issued forth from the belly of the Holy Roman Empire (aka the Catholic Church). Of course, I don't ask you to believe what's offered here. Do the research.

Here's a video on the subject.

What Christians Believe

The worship of Jesus as a God was an invented notion. (We assume that as a Christian the author considers the Bible to be a relevant source of information regarding Jesus:
Matt. 2:11 On coming to the house, they saw the child with his mother Mary, and they bowed down and worshipped him.
Matt. 14:33 Then those who were in the boat worshipped him, saying, “Truly you are the Son of God.”
Matt. 28:9 Suddenly Jesus met them. “Greetings,” he said. They came to him, clasped his feet and worshipped him.
Matt. 28:17 When they saw him, they worshipped him; but some doubted. John 9:38 Then the man said, “Lord, I believe,” and he worshipped him.
Rev. 5:14 The four living creatures said, “Amen”, and the elders fell down and worshipped [the lamb].
If this information is false, we would need to see the contrary evidence. Oh. She will not provide any.)

The concept of the Trinity is also invented by humans. This is not to say that any of these concepts are bad. They're not. They're simply invented and were not bought to us by Christ. (We assume that as a Christian the author considers the Bible to be a relevant source of information regarding the trinity:

Matt. 10:20 for it will not be you speaking, but the Spirit of your Father speaking through you.

Matt. 22:42-43 “What do you think about the Christ? Whose son is he?” “The son of David,” they replied. 43 He said to them, “How is it then that David, speaking by the Spirit, calls him `Lord’?

Mt. 28:19 Therefore go and make disciples of all nations, baptizing them in the name of the Father and of the Son and of the Holy Spirit...

Mark 1:10 As Jesus was coming up out of the water, he saw heaven being torn open and the Spirit descending on him like a dove.

If this information is false, we would need to see the contrary evidence. Oh. She will not provide any.)

I share the beginnings of where the Christian religion took form (hundreds of years after Christ) (The Christian religion was formed at Pentecost [Acts 2:1 ff.], and was first known as The Way [Acts 9:2]. They were called Christians early on [Acts 11:26].

If this information is false, we would need to see the contrary evidence. Oh. She will not provide any.)

in the following vid. The Nicene Council was pivotal to the formation of the beliefs of the early Christian Church. If you've never read the Nicene Creed, it's widely available online, and well worth the quick read. (Let's quote it:
I believe in one God, the Father almighty, maker of heaven and earth, of all things visible and invisible.

I believe in one Lord Jesus Christ, the Only Begotten Son of God, born of the Father before all ages. God from God, Light from Light, true God from true God, begotten, not made, consubstantial with the Father; through him all things were made.

For us men and for our salvation he came down from heaven, and by the Holy Spirit was incarnate of the Virgin Mary, and became man. For our sake he was crucified under Pontius Pilate, he suffered death and was buried, and rose again on the third day in accordance with the Scriptures.

He ascended into heaven and is seated at the right hand of the Father. He will come again in glory to judge the living and the dead and his kingdom will have no end.

I believe in the Holy Spirit, the Lord, the giver of life, who proceeds from the Father and the Son, who with the Father and the Son is adored and glorified, who has spoken through the prophets.

I believe in one, holy, catholic and apostolic Church. I confess one Baptism for the forgiveness of sins and I look forward to the resurrection of the dead and the life of the world to come.

Amen.
The Nicene Creed did not invent these doctrines, it simply codified what was already being widely practiced. It falls to the author to point out what is incorrect or unbiblical or un-Christ-like. She will not do this.

We assume that as a Christian the author considers the Bible to be a relevant source of information to evaluate the contents of the Nicene Creed.)

The doctrine of the Christian Church was created by a group of men (and no women, which is a heresy in and of itself) (The author claims heresy. How is it heresy? If it is heresy we need to know the source of her doctrine.)

who met behind closed doors and emerged with rules for everyone to follow in "this is what you believe" fashion. (Actually, this was a time of fierce debate as to the Bible's teaching, and the Nicene Council met to consider these issues and make a determination regarding them.

Now, it seems the author is claiming this determination is false. She will need to tell us the source of this assertion.)

This video gives you more detail... (We could not endure for the whole excruciating video. so we are unable to report if the author gave any details regarding her assertions.)

What About Christ?

Many who follow the Christian faith may be surprised to discover more about the original Christ, who was a far cry from the religion we have today (even though it's named after him. (Tell us about the "original Christ." Oh. She won't.)

Every Christian could benefit from reading "16 Crucified Saviors: Or, Christianity Before Christ" (can be read online here). (We read it until we could endure no more. A wordy waste of time, comprised mostly of undocumented claims.)

Nearly all 16 of the crucified saviors are of an immaculate birth. (Finally, the first specific claim. And it's nothing more than an attempt to water down the uniqueness of Jesus as presented by the historic Christian faith. But these similarities are superficial and in no way impugns Christianity.)

Once again, your belief is not required, nor your agreement sought. This can be easily researched, yet I fear many do not desire to dig too deep, as it may upset the apple cart of their beliefs. (We are happy to dig deep, if the author provides sufficient reason to do so. So far we have seen nothing more than undocumented claims and opinions.)

Digging deep isn't convenient. When I emerged from the dogma of my former religious beliefs and entered spirituality, I opted to discard a boatload of beliefs that did nothing other than weigh me down.

Where to Go Next & Conclusions

Soon, the Forbidden Knowledge series will be available in a new book "Christians: You've Been Lied To." Until then, catch the video series on YouTube here.

The conclusion: STUDY TO SHOW THYSELF APPROVED. (Study what, specifically?)

Believe NOTHING. Only seek the KNOW TRUTH. (What truth? Whose truth? How do we know what is true?)

"And ye shall know the truth, and the truth shall set you free." John 8:32 (DARBY) (Ah, Jesus' words. But if the author wants this truth, where does she find information? Well, the Bible. So she needs to tell us from the Bible where she finds her beliefs explained.

We wonder just how much of what Jesus said is accepted by the author. Jesus also said,

Jn. 14:6-7 Jesus answered, “I am the way and the truth and the life. No one comes to the Father except through me. 7 If you really knew me, you would know my Father as well. From now on, you do know him and have seen him.”

It isn't hard to find the truth. It's only hard to accept it.)
