Letter to the editor: Political balance has long been missing from Montana - Jerrold E. Johnson

Found here. Our comments in bold.
--------------------

Dr. Johnson doesn't write letters to the editor as often as he used to. So today's letter gives us more insight into someone who would represent himself as a moderate. It is a scattershot letter without focus or coherence, designed solely for the purpose of bashing Trump and furthering the false narrative of Jan 6th.

Dr. Johnson will advocate for "balance," whatever that means, but doesn't seem to understand that each and every elected official was put in place by the voters of Montana. There is no such thing as "balance," there is only the result of elections.
---------------------

Tim Sheehy seems to be a good man for a short-time Montanan, but he's no Jon Tester. (His only mention of Sheehy.)

Jon Tester is a knowledgeable Montanan who has worked for Vets his entire 16 year Senate career. He meets with voters face-to-face, not the impossible phone conferences of Daines and Rosendale. He is an established senior senator and his opinion is frequently sought by the news media. (A media that love leftist Democrats...)

He gives more help and power to Montana and balance to a system that has slipped too far off base. ("Balance" is not a feature of politics. Politics is a play-to-win scenario.

Tester governs against the will of most Montanans, with the exception of the leftist population centers of Montana (Missoula, Helena, Bozeman, and Great Falls). His down-home image belies what really is an inside the beltway player with connections to the deep state swamp.

One only need to examine a Montana electoral map of his last election to see that he won solely in liberal cities, but rural and small-town Montanans, particularly in the eastern part of the state, voted 80% against him.)

Most of my years in Montana we were a politically balanced purple state. I voted Republican, but support (sic) Mansfield who was a power in the Senate and a boon to our les (sic) populated state. (Hmm. The contemporary Left is clamoring for abolishing the Electoral College. So Tester and Mansfield, from a low population state and known for bringing home the pork, would become a thing of the past. Abolishing the Electoral College would mean the population centers of the country, largely leftist from about five states, would determine all elections. Thus the Left in one breath would disenfranchise tens of millions of voters, yet in the next breath they herald and lionize the big names from small states.

Thus they want it both ways.)

As I aged the Democrats seemed more caring for the poor and disenfranchised (How are the poor and disenfranchised doing under this democrat-installed system? Not good? Well, at least Democrats are "More caring.")

while Republicans catered to super wealthy (Leftist talking points flow effortlessly from Dr. Johnson's word processor.)

while abandoning the best elements of conservatism which are retaining the best of the past and being open to change.

(Here's comes the litany of leftist bumper sticker slogans and inane talking points....) They are more reactionary and in Montana have abolished women's control of their health, interfered while ignorant in areas such as medicine and LGBTQ+ concerns, want control over the judicial system, change an acknowledged excellent constitution and become an autocracy. I supported Bob Brown when I returned to Montana. (Rhino.)

I was gone when Racicot was governor, (Rhino.)

a good conservative, recently kicked out of the Republican Party. What blows my mind is those who still support Trump if they watched the Jan. 6 insurrection on TV. (There was no insurrection.)

Trump cheered the mob on, (Didn't happen.)

and was OK with hanging Pence if he didn't do what was "right." (Didn't happen.)

We are long overdue for a politically balanced Montana. (Which means democrat controlled.)
