Apparently the website no longer exists.

While we certainly appreciate those who defend the Gospel, we think that such efforts ought to be unimpeachable, both Scripturally and intellectually. Christians too often have a reputation for low intellect and gullibility. So we need to do our homework and make sure our defenses pass scrutiny.
So here are four examples of FB memes from nonearegood.com that leave something to be desired in terms of expositional rigor. We should note that we are in no way defending those who are cited here.
Unfortunately we don't know the context for Mr. Dollar's assertion. However, taking the statement as it stands without context, he is not wrong. Jesus quoted Psalm 82:6 in Jn. 10:34: "Is it not written in your Law, `I have said you are gods’?"
What Jesus meant by His proclamation is another issue, but it's not terribly relevant to the point of the meme. Indeed, if the purpose is to refute the false teaching of this man, many other examples are available.
---------------
We're definitely no fan of Mr. Osteen, but here is an innocuous statement that nonearegood.com jumps all over as if he was making was a doctrinal treatise. However, it is clearly a casual comment and not about the spiritual state of mankind.
But what about the quoted Scriptures? Are they employed accurately?
First, Romans 3:10. We find here that Paul is making a very specific point, that Jews and Gentiles are the same, they are both under sin (Rom. 3:9). Paul then goes on to establish his point with several O.T. quotes, lasting all the way to verse 3:19. He then asserts that no one will obtain righteousness by observing the law (3:20.)
This all leads up to his point, found in verse 21 and 22:
But now a righteousness from God, apart from law, has been made known, to which the Law and the Prophets testify. This righteousness from God comes through faith in Jesus Christ to all who believe. So, are there any righteous? Well, yes. Paul says there are. We who have been made righteous by faith in Jesus. Jesus is our righteousness (1 Co. 1:30).
So the error nonearegood.com makes is to quote a raw Scripture as a non-contextual, absolute statement.
Now for Jeremiah 17:9. This may be one of the most misused Bible quotes by Christians. It escapes the notice of many Christians that the verse is a question:
The heart is deceitful above all things and beyond cure. Who can understand it?God, via Jeremiah, answers his own question in the very next verse:
I the LORD search the heart and examine the mind, to reward a man according to his conduct, according to what his deeds deserve. That is, the state of the heart of man is impenetrable, except for God. He alone discerns the heart of every man.
But the real question we need to ask is, is the wickedness of the human heart a permanent, unsolvable state? Ezekiel, speaking prophetically, says this:
I will give them an undivided heart and put a new spirit in them; I will remove from them their heart of stone and give them a heart of flesh. Ez. 11:19So there is a time when God transforms the human heart.
It is a circumcision of the heart, a spiritual work done by God to those who who call upon the Name of Jesus in repentance and obedience:
Ro. 2:29 No, a man is a Jew if he is one inwardly; and circumcision is circumcision of the heart, by the Spirit, not by the written code. Such a man’s praise is not from men, but from God.We were in such a state, but now we are different:
Ro. 6:17 But thanks be to God that, though you used to be slaves to sin, you wholeheartedly obeyed the form of teaching to which you were entrusted.God's Spirit now resides in our hearts. We don't think the Holy Spirit would dwell in a desperately wicked place:
2Co. 1:21 Now it is God who makes both us and you stand firm in Christ. He anointed us, 22 set his seal of ownership on us, and put his Spirit in our hearts. Those who are unregenerate have a different, veiled heart:
2Co. 3:15 Even to this day when Moses is read, a veil covers their hearts. 16 But whenever anyone turns to the Lord, the veil is taken away. This new nature means that we have been transformed, and Jeremiah 17:9 is no longer true of us.

Here we have a little bait-and-switch. Ms. Meyer says one thing, that she isn't a sinner anymore, and nonearegood.com quotes a verse about having no sin. However, the two are not the same. Ms. Meyer did not claim that she had no sin.
Paul explains this in Ro. 6:10-11:
The death he died, he died to sin once for all; but the life he lives, he lives to God. In the same way, count yourselves dead to sin but alive to God in Christ Jesus. Thus Ms. Meyer is following Paul's advice to not consider one's self a sinner any longer.
--------------------
Again, we are going only by the isolated quote.
This is another bait-and-switch. Is Mr. Bell saying that everyone is going to be saved or some such thing? Is he commenting on what the lost think about the preaching of the cross? Is he explaining something about the narrow gate? No, no, and no. Mr. Bell is clearly speaking about the offer that goes out to all mankind, the salvation message. Do all accept the invitation? No, and Mr. Bell did not say that they do.
Paul explained it this way:
Ac. 17:30 "In the past God overlooked such ignorance, but now he commands all people everywhere to repent.Jesus said this:
Mt. 24:14 And this gospel of the kingdom will be preached in the whole world as a testimony to all nations, and then the end will come. The Gospel IS good news for everyone. However, the offer and the acceptance are two different issues.
Now, it needs to be said that there may be some errant doctrine preached by each of these people. However, since nonearegood.com sets themselves out to be defenders of the true faith, they'd better rise to a standard of excellence by rightly dividing the word of truth.
These four examples fail to do this.
