For every player who credits God for the win, a player from the opposing team can logically blame God for the loss

We have a few comments, assuming of course that Dr. Tyson actually said this.

The first thing we want to mention is that when we have questions about astrophysics, we will want to know what Dr. Tyson thinks. When it comes to religion, we will ask someone who believes in God and has some expertise in religion.

Second, we are unfamiliar with anyone crediting God for winning a game. Rather, we find that athletes predominately give God credit for the blessing of their talent, for preserving them from injury, or just general thankfulness.

Third, athletes are not theologians. What they think or believe does not come to bear on the nature or existence of God.

Lastly, not all of these athletes who mention God are Bible-believing Christians. Some are Muslims, Hindus, universalists, or pantheists. Some are simply mentioning God casually without giving Him another thought.

But apparently Neil deGrasse Tyson thinks this is a devastating argument against God. If he does, we are absolutely certain he ought to stick to astrophysics.
