More NAR Healing Idiocy on Display - By Rev. Anthony Wade

Found here. Our comments in bold.
--------------

The time has come to award a dubious distinction to Rev. Wade: His own tag. This is a sad event, which speaks to the persistent verbal incontinence of the author.

We find his articles to be errant at an alarming frequency. The below article is no exception.

We shall edit out irrelevant tangents, as is our wont.
---------------

When the disciples saw it, they marveled, saying, "How did the fig tree wither at once?" And Jesus answered them, "Truly, I say to you, if you have faith and do not doubt, you will not only do what has been done to the fig tree, but even if you say to this mountain, 'Be taken up and thrown into the sea,' it will happen. And whatever you ask in prayer, you will receive, if you have faith." -- Matthew 21:20-22 (ESV)

Becky Dvorak has carved out a little niche within the Purpose Driven Industrial Complex as a Prophetic Healing Evangelist. If that term seems foreign to you that is because she made it up. (We recall that Rev. Wade calls himself a discernment minister, also a made up term.)

(...) (A litany of unsupported assertion has been deleted.)

"It's important to know and remember that God is not the mountain standing in your way; Satan is. Therefore, while speaking to this mountain, and not about the mountain, you do not beg God for your answer. He completed His work at Calvary, and now it is your turn to work His work. If you will prophesy accurately to this mountain, it will move and be cast into the sea. Learn to prophesy healing with accuracy, hit the mark and cause that mountain to crumble from the inside to the outside--and watch it fall down." -- Becky Dvorak

It sounds so reasonable doesn't it? Sickness however is not always from Satan. (Ms. Dvorak did not claim it was.)

Sickness entered this world through the fall of man. Most sicknesses today are due to choices we make in how we live our lives. There are however several points here to rebuke forcefully:

1. Prayer is not "begging God." (Which is exactly what Ms. Dvorak said: ...you do not beg God for your answer.)

The bible says to seek the elders of the church to pray the prayer of faith over the person who is sick. Realize that this is all part of the New Apostolic Reformation (NAR) schtick. That we have the power of God.
(Ac. 1:8 But you will receive power when the Holy Spirit comes on you...
Ac. 6:8 Now Stephen, a man full of God’s grace and power, did great wonders and miraculous signs among the people.
Ro. 15:13 May the God of hope fill you with all joy and peace as you trust in him, so that you may overflow with hope by the power of the Holy Spirit.
1Co. 12:9-10 to another faith by the same Spirit, to another gifts of healing by that one Spirit, 10 to another miraculous powers...
Ep. 1:18-19 I pray also that the eyes of your heart may be enlightened in order that you may know the hope to which he has called you, the riches of his glorious inheritance in the saints, 19 and his incomparably great power for us who believe.
Ep. 6:10 Finally, be strong in the Lord and in his mighty power.
2Ti. 1:7 For God did not give us a spirit of timidity, but a spirit of power, of love and of self-discipline.)
Word Faith adherents like Creflo Dollar and Joyce Meyer take it further to say that we are in fact little gods. What Dvorak is encouraging you to do here is NOT go to God when you are sick but instead, pretend you are God. (Ms. Dvorak did not say this.)

The healing purchased at Calvary was the spiritual healing of salvation. (Undocumented claim.)

2. We do not "work His work."
(Jn. 6:28-29 Then they asked him, “What must we do to do the works God requires?” 29 Jesus answered, “The work of God is this: to believe in the one he has sent.”
Ep. 2:10 For we are His workmanship, created in Christ Jesus for good works, which God prepared beforehand so that we would walk in them.
Rev.2:26 He who overcomes, and he who keeps My deeds until the end, to him I will give authority over the nations...)
God is God all alone. He does not need our help and has not ceded any of it to us.
(Lk. 12:32 “Do not be afraid, little flock, for your Father has been pleased to give you the kingdom.
Lk. 10:19 I have given you authority to trample on snakes and scorpions and to overcome all the power of the enemy; nothing will harm you.
He. 13:17 Obey your leaders and submit to their authority.
Re. 2:26 To him who overcomes and does my will to the end, I will give authority over the nations...)
The NAR is constantly trying to usurp the power of God. (Undocumented claim.)

We do not have the power of creation in our words. It is God alone who calls things that are not as though they were. This is the same old Luciferin (sic) sin that saw Satan cast out from heaven. It is the same sin Lucifer then convinced Eve to commit in the garden. That you too will be like God.

3. Prophesy is a gift of the spirit, not a super power for all believers. (Who has claimed it's a superpower for all believers?)

The bible is very clear that only the Holy Spirit decides who gets what gift and when. It also makes it clear that they are for the building up of the church. The NAR however believes and teaches that everyone can prophesy
(1Co. 14:5 I would like every one of you to speak in tongues,  but I would rather have you prophesy.)
and they even run schools to teach people how to.
(1Co. 14:1 Follow the way of love and eagerly desire spiritual gifts, especially the gift of prophecy.)
It is a bastardization of prophecy that only seeks to mock God. (Undocumented claim.)

The reference to speaking to the mountain is routinely abused in Charismatic circles. (Undocumented claim.)

I have provided the entire context in the key verses today. Jesus was making a point about how much greater the Father is than their astonishment at the withered fig tree. His reference to the mountain was of course metaphorical (Undocumented claim.)

and was a point about praying in agreement with God, which is odd since Becky started by saying don't pray! (?? We carefully read the supplied quote. She does not say this. The author is lying to us.)

Given the propensity of the author to write multi page posts, we wonder if his spew of words prevents him from writing thoughtfully. Does he not take the time to proof read in a rush to make a new post?

He misunderstands the quotes he posts, he glosses over important details, he makes all sorts of pronouncements without bothering to prove or even document them. This stream-of-consciousness style of writing is difficult to wade (no pun intended) through. All the tangents and non sequiturs add up to a nearly unreadable presentation.

We would think it would be prudent for any writer to not simply assume they are correct and thus do not feel the need to provide the logical chain of thought needed to arrive at their conclusion. Rather, a significant premise needs to be documented and explained. If the premise is not documented, everything built on it is suspect

  1. Can you do an article on this guy called Brother James Key? https://www.youtube.com/channel/UCh4ECh_O3uhViBrFR_XPGw He thinks Trump is the Antichrist and has done way too many Youtube videos on the topic. He says if you disagree, then you lack discernment. And "God told him" about Trump. He's made videos of people's comments thanking him for helping them to "see the light" about Trump. They all say the same things: "God told me", and, "If you don't think Trump is the anti-Christ then you have bad discernment".

  2. Since I am not a pre-millennial dispensationist, I don't have any reason at all to wonder who the anti-christ is. So this guy's commentary is completely irrelevant to me.

As a new Christian I was raised on Hal Lindsey, went through the "88 reasons Why The Rapture Will Be in 1988," Jonathan Cahn, Blood Red Moon, the Pope is the anti-christ, on and on and on. And now Trump?

Frankly, it seems to me to be nothing more than an embarrassment to Christianity. And Mr. Keyes isn't helping that.

I appreciate your comment, however. It's a good thing to be on the lookout for people like this guy.
