In the dream, I am with several other believers traveling in a car on back roads out in the valley on our way to an enormous church out in the fields. When we start out, we pass four men in long frocks, and the frocks have hoods. They look like Old Testament prophets. One frock is red, one lime green, and the others beige and gray. They look out of place, and I wonder what they are doing walking along these country roads.
We drive for miles and miles and miles and finally arrive at this huge building in the fields... We go inside and almost everyone is climbing in this swimming pool that is the size of a small hotel pool. There is a hose for people to rinse any mud off their feet. The pool is packed with people and everyone is splashing around in the water having fun, but there are too many people and not enough pool...
I enter this gigantic white room that has an enormous white Olympic-size pool with jets at one end, so the water will have a current. It’s not exactly rectangular and looks more like the shape of a riverbed carved by a mighty river. I marvel at the empty pool all prepared for the people and wonder why it hasn’t been filled yet. ...I look out a window and gasp when I see the four men in frocks coming up the road toward us. I thought, “Wow, they walked all that way just to get here!”
When I see them, I run out to where the people are splashing in the small pool, and in my loudest voice, say, “You men and women who know the Bible—get ready!”
Possible interpretation: In my experience with dream language and symbolism, swimming is a picture of being immersed and moving in the Holy Spirit. The people in the hotel pool realize they need to be “clean” (hose to rinse feet), but they are splashing around and just enjoying the Holy Spirit. Nothing bad about that! Still, God is saying we are on the cusp of unprecedented times and need to move from milk to meat in terms of understanding and being “exercised” in the things of the Spirit. The four men (possibly angels on assignment) are coming to fill the pool. They have traveled a long way to bring us to this day. What we strive and strive for in building the church is easy for the Holy Spirit (and us if we are moving in Him). The Kingdom will come not by might or power, but by the Spirit. The new pool will have a current, so we will have to swim hard and therefore grow stronger. The announcement at the end relates to the idea that it is a dangerous thing to say you hear fresh words from God if you are not grounded in the written Word. Those who will move into the bigger pool of the Spirit will need to be well versed in Scripture.
I had this dream over a month after I read Zechariah 1-2 and just realized that there were four craftsmen or workers mentioned in Zechariah 1:18-21... God is measuring out the perimeters of His church, preparing for multitudes. He is also calling His people to get strong and exercised in the Spirit so we will be ready.
See what the Spirit is saying to you…
