Question: Would politicians save a drowning man? By Jay Moor

Found here. My comments in bold.

The author asks a question at the end. Lemme take a stab at an answer.

People across the country were morally outraged over an event reported last week by most mainstream news outlets, as follows:

“The low-quality, 2.5-minute cellphone video…shows a man flailing in the middle of a body of water as the teenagers describe his struggle and laugh at him from the shore. The five teen boys can be heard laughing as the man struggles to stay afloat, police say, in a pond near his family’s Cocoa, Florida, home. [One boy says,] ‘Ain’t nobody going to help you, you dumb (expletive). You shouldn’t have got in there.’ About a minute into the video, the man appears to let out a whimper before submerging, fully, underwater. A voice can be heard saying, ‘He just died!,’ as the others laugh.”

So, here’s a question to ponder — in Bible school, in social studies class, under the stylist’s comb, down at the Legion Hall, around the kitchen table, up in your mountain camp or wherever you go to think about the big stuff in life:

What’s the moral difference between (1) this group of mocking teenagers refusing to assist a drowning man and (2) a group of venal politicians refusing to provide Americans with access to life saving medical care?

In the world of the political left, government is everything. If government isn't doing something about the leftist issue de jour, nothing is being done. If there’s an alternative being suggested, it is immoral and will kill millions. And if a politician isn't sufficiently interested in spending oodles of money, then they are in favor of the problem.

Is this fairytale world, compassion is defined as extracting money from someone else's wallet. You will rarely find a leftist writing out a check to someone in need. You will hardly ever find a leftist seeking out a hurting person, unless it's to parade them across a stage as a sob story.

Leftists love to tell us about morality. They are happy to tell us that Jesus would support them, but bristle at the idea of others acting upon their own moral precepts. It’s ok for Leftists to impose their morality on others via the strong arm of government, but you should keep your religion out of politics.

Never mind that every government social program has failed to remedy the problem for which it was created. Apparently it doesn’t matter that under ACA insurance rates continue to skyrocket and insurance carriers are leaving in droves. And we need to keep it quiet that the uninsured rate is up from 10.9% in 2016 to 11.3% (36,499,000 people) this year. And let’s not discuss the fact that 10 million insured people will not be able to pay their medical bills this year and 62% of bankruptcies are due to medical expenses.

Because their morality is better than yours.
