This is a confused and ignorant letter, full of leftist prescriptions masquerading as Christianity. The leftist starts with his politics, then looks to justify his politics with half-remembered Bible stories. That's what the Left does, dress up their pernicious beliefs with Jesus, using innocuous language and half-truths.
The idea that Jesus would condone any government policy is preposterous on its face. That we would approve of DEI in particular as a government policy is even more preposterous:
Jn. 18:36 Jesus said, “My kingdom is not of this world. If it were, my servants would fight to prevent my arrest by the Jews. But now my kingdom is from another place.”
Jn. 6:15 Jesus, knowing that they intended to come and make him king by force, withdrew again to a mountain by himself.
We will mostly answer the letter writer with what Jesus Himself said. That's the best way to determine what Jesus would do.
I personally can’t think of a better thought-provoking Christian sermon than the simple question appearing on bumper stickers across the country: “What Would Jesus Do?”
I mean, honestly! What more needs to be said or heard in directing your life’s affairs? (The author apparently wants the country to operate according to his view of the Bible. He must have forgotten about the separation of Church and State.)
If that on any level, whether you are a Christian or not, rings true for you, then how can anyone deny the contradiction of viewing the intent of Diversity, Equity and Inclusion as something that Jesus would not wholeheartedly (an infinite celestial heart at that) endorse? That truly needs explaining! (Let's see what Jesus thought about DEI:
(Now comes the laundry list of Leftist issues and complaints...) Three hundred years of human bondage followed by 100 years of racist economic and social subordination does not right itself simply by accusing the formerly enslaved of being lazy and not applying themselves. (Which no one does.)
All of which Jesus rejected and asked us to do better. (Nowhere in the letter writer's presentation is anything about Jesus opposing evil, requiring repentance, or the requirement to obey Him.)
Just never stop asking yourself what Jesus would do. Especially the next time you vote.

Mt. 19:4 “Haven’t you read,” he replied, “that at the beginning the Creator `made them male and female’..."
Matt 7:21 Not everyone who says to me, "Lord, Lord," will enter the kingdom of heaven, but the one who does the will of my Father who is in heaven.Jn. 8:44 You belong to your father, the devil, and you want to carry out your father’s desire.Mt. 13:41 The Son of Man will send out his angels, and they will weed out of his kingdom everything that causes sin and all who do evil. 42 They will throw them into the fiery furnace, where there will be weeping and gnashing of teeth. 43 Then the righteous will shine like the sun in the kingdom of their Father. He who has ears, let him hear.Mt. 7:14 But small is the gate and narrow the road that leads to life, and only a few find it.
Apparently the letter writer is referring to some other person named Jesus.)

Not when millions of people instantly (and in many cases violently) resented the sudden legal equity of a perceived inferior group. (Racism was bad. No doubt about it. It no longer exists except for a handful of racist people. The letter writer is recounting a sad feature of history, a time that is now gone in America. Yet it is a handy issue for the Left, because it gives leverage. So racism must not be allowed to die as an issue. Accordingly, it will never be solved.)
And then there is women’s rights, Native Americans and the list goes on. (We appreciate the letter writer not letting the list go on.)

My hunch is that Jesus would applaud the efforts of Germany in owning their past behavior. Are we owning ours? (Well, we fought a war where hundreds of thousands of soldiers, primarily white, died to free the slaves. We passed the Civil Rights Act 60 years ago. Blacks have never had it better, basically completely equal in every respect. Where has the letter writer been?)
What would Jesus say and do?
The AIDS victims of Jesus' time were the lepers. Everyone back then interpreted their affliction as wrought by God for some sort of transgression. Prostitutes were stoned to death. (Jn. 8:10-11 Jesus straightened up and asked her, “Woman, where are they? Has no-one condemned you?” 11 “No-one, sir,” she said. “Then neither do I condemn you,” Jesus declared. “Go now and leave your life of sin.”

Jesus didn't accept her sin, he told her to give up her sinful life.)
Gentiles were shunned, and you proved your piousness by being louder than the guy praying next to you.

So what would He say about people today who self-righteously insist on knowing God’s will in condemning the private life decisions of others? (He would call them to repentance.)
Would He challenge them to stone throwing? Would He speak, dare I say, of inclusion? (Mt. 25:29 For everyone who has will be given more, and he will have an abundance. Whoever does not have, even what he has will be taken from him.)
Just never stop asking yourself what Jesus would do. Especially the next time you vote.
