This 1 Passage of Scripture Left John Bevere Stunned, And He’s Finally Explaining Why - By James Lasher

Found here. Our comments in bold.
----------------------------
Mr. Lasher wrote this article about Mr. Bevere's 47 minute video (youtube link), but it's only about 400 words.

We aren't inclined to view the entire video, however, based on Mr. Lasher's summation. The 20 minutes we did endure also dissuaded us, mostly because of Mr. Bevere'e emphatic, over-the-top presentation.

The timing of the rapture is actually irrelevant to our Christian walk. End times doctrine does not come to bear on any aspect of our obligations or privileges as Christians. So the issue under discussion is actually an empty pursuit.
------------------------

For years, the timing of the rapture has sparked intense debate across the body of Christ.

Now, Bible teacher John Bevere is stepping into the conversation with clarity and conviction. (Sir, we shall determine for ourselves if this is true.)

“I’ve never shared this before,” Bevere said on his podcast as he addressed the question: When does the catching away of the church occur?

“We’re going to talk about the catching away of the church… does it occur prior to the tribulation… or post tribulation?” (Maybe he does discuss this in the video, but this article will not do this.)

Not About Division

Bevere made it clear this issue should not divide believers.

“This is not given for you to argue with fellow Christians,” he said. “My wife and I don’t even see eye to eye on this.”

He shared that his wife holds a post-tribulation view but emphasized unity over disagreement.

We Are Not Appointed to Wrath

At the center of Bevere’s argument is a clear biblical distinction.

“First reason why I believe we will leave before the tribulation begins… we are not appointed to wrath,” he said.

“Tribulation is the wrath of the world against believers… the tribulation is the outpouring of God’s wrath on a sinful world.”

He pointed to Scripture declaring, “God did not appoint us to wrath, but to obtain salvation.” (That would be 1 Thessalonians 5:9. It would be nice if Mr. Lasher would supply Mr. Bevere's Bible references.

This verse contrasts two things, wrath vs. salvation. It's not contrasting wrath vs. rapture. This seems like a simple matter, but it's been clouded by these pre-tribulation advocates who are desperate for a verse that proves their case. This verse does not do that.)

A Sobering Reality

Bevere underscored the severity of what Scripture describes during the tribulation.

“All the water on earth is going to be turned to blood,” he said. “There will be terrible storms with hail… 75 pounds.” (This is taken from Revelation 16:21, one of three mentions of hail in Revelation [8:7 and 11:19 are the other two].)

“In just the fourth seal… one fourth of all mankind will be killed.”

Then he posed the key question: “Does this sound like the language directed towards His bride?” (This is a very odd statement. Mr. Bevere does admit in the video that Christians will have tribulation:

Jn. 16:33 ...In this world you will have trouble. But take heart! I have overcome the world.

So on one hand he asserts that God would never deal with the Bride like this, but on the other hand agrees that the Bride will experience trouble. In the video Mr. Bevere makes a distinction between general tribulation and the Great Tribulation, which apparently means God is happy to drag His Bride through the troubles of general tribulations but not this one specific tribulation.

But more critically, Mr. Bevere as a pre-tribber most likely believes that after the rapture there will be people who get saved. Thus these Christians will indeed go through the Great Tribulation. So are these Christians, also His bride, appointed to wrath?)

A Revelation From Scripture

Bevere also shared a moment of personal breakthrough.

“It took me three solid days,” he said. “I have never heard anybody preach this in my life.” (Red flag...)

Pointing to Isaiah 26, he explained that believers are brought into “chambers” before judgment falls. (Mr. Lasher, is it really so hard to publish the actual Bible reference and actually quote it?

Is. 26:20-21 Go, my people, enter your rooms and shut the doors behind you; hide yourselves for a little while until his wrath has passed by. 21 See, the LORD is coming out of his dwelling to punish the people of the earth for their sins. The earth will disclose the blood shed upon her; she will conceal her slain no longer.)

“These chambers have to be in heaven,” he said. “This shows… the resurrection… will happen before the… indignation is poured out.” (Oh my. We are sitting here speechless, unable to type for a moment. Here Isaiah was writing about judgment against Israel, one judgment among many that have been executed against the nation over the course of centuries.

In this passage they are not "brought" anywhere. God told His people to take refuge in their houses. This Passover-like instruction is not a picture of being protected in heaven.

But more to the point, and the reason for our consternation, is that when Jesus talked about the Great Tribulation He gave the opposite advice:

Mt. 24:15-16 So when you see standing in the holy place `the abomination that causes desolation’, spoken of through the prophet Daniel — let the reader understand — 16 then let those who are in Judea flee to the mountains. Let no-one on the roof of his house go down to take anything out of the house.

This is what happens when a Bible teacher jumps on a "new revelation" without checking Scripture or consulting other Christians.

And this is why we deemed this Bad Bible Teaching.)

Hope, Not Fear

Ultimately, Bevere said this teaching should lead us to urgency and hope.

“There are people that no matter what God does, they don’t want to be saved,” he said.

For us, this is not about winning arguments or proving timelines. It is about staying ready, staying faithful and making sure no one around us misses what God is offering right now.

The conversation about when He comes will continue. But the call to be ready is already here.
