The Nation sends me frequent appeals for donations, along with regular whoppers. Here's the latest:
"Amid all the foolishness, distortions and half-truths that pass for political discourse, is a weekly beacon that you simply won't find anywhere else. But did you know that what you see on our website is only a fraction of the opinion, analysis, insight and reporting that subscribers enjoy?
"...Consider mainstream coverage of the primaries. They'd have you believe that Mitt Romney is somehow not conservative enough for his party. editor and publisher Katrina vanden Heuvel corrected that distortion:
"'He is a champion for...private equity gamblers...buccaneer bankers...corporate raiders. He supports repealing Wall Street reforms...he favored the Republican effort to cripple the Consumer Financial Protection Bureau and the National Labor Relations Board...he wants a weaker Environmental Protection Agency and supports anti-union right-to-work legislation.'
"Every issue of provides fresh ammunition for debunking the most prevalent myths and hogwash about: unions, regulation, alternative energy, climate change, our 'classless' society, our national debt, healthcare, taxes and more.
During the upcoming election season, get the facts from the pages of America's most fearless and independent-minded defender of democracy."
If only Romney was as conservative as they say. But what is more interesting to me is that the Left is leveling their guns on him now. I thought that they'd want him to be the nominee, because Obama would have the biggest chance to beat Romney.
