The Nation Magazine is at it again

I received this email today, and I note that the Nation is ok with being a direct Democratic mouthpiece by agreeing to publish their talking points.

I also note that the Democrats have no problem with Obama talking about his faith in God, but they don't like Republicans passing laws about our national motto, which just recently is once again the subject of an atheist lawsuit.

They also attack the Republicans regarding what they call "jobs" bills, even though none of the stimuli have had any effect on the unemployment rate. I'd stop supporting these programs too, if there was no evidence of success.

Last point. If the nation's roads and bridges are crumbling, whose fault is that? With gas taxes, tolls, and fees raking in billions of dollars, where is the money going?

So anyway, here's the email:

Dear Nation Reader,

One look at the conduct of the GOP-led House gives a frightening idea of what our government could look like with a Republican Majority in the Senate as well. Read below for ways you can stand against GOP obstructionism.

Sincerely,

Dear Friend,

Three times in three weeks, Senate Republicans filibustered a bill to create jobs -- the last time through rebuilding America's crumbling roads and bridges.

Unbelievable.

These lawmakers won't lift a finger to put people back to work and get our economy moving again. Meanwhile, Republicans in the House found time to debate and pass a reaffirmation of "In God We Trust" as our national motto, which has been in place since 1956, was reaffirmed in 2002, and again in 2006.

As President Obama said, "I trust in God, but God wants to see us help ourselves by putting people back to work."

If you agree that Republicans should stop playing politics with our economy and help people get back to work, please sign our petition. We're looking for 100,000 people to take a stand for jobs and America's middle class.

We're going to keep calling Republicans out for their stubborn refusal to do anything to get our economy moving again. Thanks for your help.

Sincerely,

The Democratic Senatorial Campaign Committee
